Chandrashekhar Balagopal worked in the IAS from 1977 - 1983. He resigned at the age of 30 to take up a new role as an entrepreneur. He was the founding Managing Director of Peninsula Polymers Ltd. better known as TERUMO PENPOL which went on to become one of the largest makers of blood transfusion bags in the world. He retired from active business in 2012 and has since been engaged in investing, writing, mentoring start-ups, catalysing and supporting social enterprises in rural areas. He co-founded ANAHA Trust with his wife Vinita Nambiar.
